Castle bank gift to valley west heart of the hospital campaign
January 28, 2011
The Valley West Heart of the Hospital Annual Giving Fund began in 2004. To-date, nearly $373,000 has been raised to help provide Valley West with new equipment and technology, allowing them to offer the best healthcare available to the community, such as the recent addition of HUGS.
The HUGS infant security system is a cutting-edge technology that allows both mom and baby free movement within the OB department and the ability to leave the department in a secured fashion for any testing that might be necessary during their stay. The baby is secured with a light weight sensor “anklet,” and both mom and baby receive identically numbered bands.
Future contributions to Heart of the Hospital will fund medical and technological advancements, as well as support our unrestricted endowment fund so we can help purchase items needed to offer a state-of-the-art hospital.
Donations to Heart of the Hospital have allowed Valley West Community Hospital to keep pace with medical advances. Many projects and pieces of equipment have been funded by Heart of the Hospital over the last 7 years including a new diagnostic ultrasound system in the Valley West Diagnostic Imaging Department, primarily used for cardiac imaging and vascular studies such as venous and arterial dopplers of the extremities, but also used for general ultrasound studies including breast, OB, and abdominal organs such as gallbladder and kidney ultrasounds. Funds have been donated by community members who share our commitment for maintaining our reputation as progressive community hospitals.
The Health Foundation wishes to thank all of our donors to the Valley West Heart of the Hospital fund.
