Valley West Community Hospital Auxiliary Scholarships Now Available
March 03, 2009The Valley West Community Hospital Auxiliary announces scholarships are now available to students who live in a community served by Valley West Community Hospital, including Sandwich, Plano, Somonauk, Leland, Yorkville, Bristol, Sheridan, Serena, Newark, Millington, Millbrook, Big Rock, Hinckley and Waterman.
Any student who has been accepted into or currently enrolled in a bona fide professional program of study for any allied health care curriculum can be considered for a scholarship. The school attendance need not be at an Illinois institution, but must be accredited and/or recognized as a legitimate institution by an appropriate agency. One year scholarships may be renewed based on annual application and evaluation.
Auxiliary Scholarship applications are available at the Registration desk at Valley West Community hospital, online at www.valleywest.org, or by calling Jana Kingston at 815.786.3704.
In addition to the application, students are also asked to submit at least two letters of reference, one personal and one from a teacher or employer; a brief written profile, stressing aspects relevant to occupational choice and goals; high school and/or college transcript and available aptitude and achievement tests (high school transcripts are not necessary if you have more than one year of college); proof of acceptance into your allied health care curriculum from the educational institution (required for new students and those already enrolled); and a photograph for publicity purposes.
