Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage Workshop Offered
November 04, 2005Medicare will begin to offer prescription drug coverage starting January 1, 2006 to all people with Medicare. There will be extra help available for people with limited income and resources to assist in paying the premiums, deductibles, and co-pays.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, along with Congressman Dennis Hastert's office, Fox Valley Older Adult Services and Valley West Community Hospital, will provide It’s All Coming Together: Introducing Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage, an informational, free workshop, Monday, November 14, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Fox Valley Older Adult Services.
The workshop will discuss how persons eligible for Medicare can benefit from the new Medicare prescription drug program. The State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) will be available to provide individualized counseling and informational resources will be available at the event.
