Valley West Community Hospital, as part of the KishHealth System, is proud to deliver advanced cancer treatment close to home. At Valley West Community Hospital, state-of-the-art technology with diagnostic imaging including MRI, CT, and digital mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, low cost annual prostate screening tests, and on-site pathology are available, along with support groups and educational services to help patients and their families deal with cancer’s effect on their lives.
KishHealth System utilizes the latest technology in diagnosing and treating cancer providing comprehensive medical and radiation oncology services allowing patients the comfort of staying close to home and family. Advanced diagnostic and treatment options include the most current chemotherapy regimens, monoclonal antibodies, hormone therapy, genetic counseling and testing, interventional radiology, ACCULOC Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) with a linear accelerator and 3-D tumor mapping, and the latest surgical interventions. Comprehensive care is offered through services at several entities of KishHealth System, which include the Kishwaukee Cancer Care Center, Illinois Regional Cancer Center, Valley West Community Hospital, and Kishwaukee Community Hospital.
Patients may also receive chemotherapy under Ramesh Kola, MD, oncologist, 15 W. Pleasant Avenue, Sandwich.
Cancer patients also benefit from the medical and complementary therapies provided by the Valley West Pain Management Clinic.
MOVING ON CANCER SUPPORT GROUP
Every 1st Thursday of the month from 6:00PM-7:00PM on site at 15 West Pleasant Avenue, Sandwich, IL 60548. Open to all Cancer Survivors including patients on treatment and their friends & families. The group welcomes all individuals irrespective of their religious beliefs and who their treating physicians are. Facilitators include Oncology Certified Nurses, Oncologist, Clergy, Cancer Survivors and Social Workers.
